The Gospel

The word "gospel" means different things to different people.  To some it is a genre of music. To others it may be the rules and regulations for a religion, or even the prayer that is prayed that "gets us in."

But for us the Gospel is different than all those things.

It is the center of everything we do.

The Gospel is the announcement that we are powerless over our sin and shame, and that we are in dire need of someone to deliver us.  (Romans 7:15-20)

We have made ourselves exhausted by trying to deliver ourselves.

The Gospel is the announcement that God relentlessly pursues us, even though we continue to sin and run from Him.  (Romans 5:6-8)

     His grace overwhelms us.

The Gospel is the announcement that Jesus absorbed the wrath and anger that our sin caused.  (I John 2:1-2, Romans 5:8-9)

We can confidently say that God is not angry with us.

Because we are overwhelmed by God’s grace, we begin the journey of belief, a belief that only Jesus can satisfy our longing for freedom.  (Galatians 5:1)

 Welcome to Freedom!
